I’ve been uhmmm-ing and ahhh-ing all day about whether or not to share the pregnancy Tarot spread that has been brewing in my Tarot Spreads Creatrix brain today (yes, I have a one track mind!). The inspiration for this spread comes from a spread called House of Fertility that one of our readers shared in the Pregnancy & Fertility Card Combinations comments thread.
The thing is, I decided quite a while back not to read professionally on pregnancy for ethical reasons. Since it requires a medical diagnosis and has to be handled by medical professionals for the duration of the pregnancy as well as during delivery, I felt it was best left to leave this question in the hands of a trusted doctor. Before I start listing the pregnancy and fertility card combinations, I want to make it abundantly clear that I do not read on aspects of a pregnancy better left in the capable hands of a medical healthcare professional, nor do I recommend using the cards as a pregnancy test. I can assure you that you won’t get much joy from the cards that way since detachment from the outcome is necessary in order to accurately read the cards.
My reason for creating this list of tarot card combination interpretations is to help you get to know the cards better. Naturally, birth and pregnancies do show up in readings – as do miscarriages and abortions.
NB! I do not use the Tarot cards for professional readings on pregnancy and fertility. In the Garden of Fertility post (where you can try out your skills in reading the combinations), I explain why.
The knowledge shared with you in this post must be used with utmost discretion when reading for others. Always make it clear that your reading is not an alternative to pregnancy tests or proper medical check-ups. Never give a pregnant lady bad news or tell someone that they are unable to have children. EVER. This is for the same reason you never ever use the cards to diagnose a condition. You are not a doctor.
Do have fun experimenting with these interpretations by picking out the cards used (as you will see, many of them are repeated) and see if you can come up with other meaningful combinations that relate to pregnancy and fertility.
If you are looking for a Pregnancy Tarot Spread which covers all three trimesters, as well as conception, birth and sex of the baby, you will find one HERE.

If you are familiar with the chakras (or energy centres) of the human body, you should be able to apply this knowledge to a relationship reading fairly effortlessly. If you are not familiar with the chakras but would like to learn, I highly recommend the book Anatomy of the Spirit by Caroline Myss.
Working with this spread does require some basic knowledge of the chakras. I will add keywords for each chakra but the more you know, the more you will get out of the spread. The main thing with chakra healing is having made the connection between the teachings/words and the flow of energy in your own body.
The best way to do this if you can’t attend a chakra healing workshop, is to use guided visualizations. You can find a lot of these for free on YouTube and Spotify. I also have a series of Chakra Vlog (video blog) posts on Tarotize.com which show you how you can use the Tarot in your chakra healing work. Continue reading
I’m posting a pregnancy spread I created for the Tarotize blog here since it covers the changes a relationship goes through during a pregnancy.
