7 Ways to Spice Up Your Relationship

passionate couple embracing

Do you remember how great the beginning of your relationship was? It was new, exciting and sexually explosive. At that point, you couldn’t keep your hands off each other. Now years later, you’re happy, but instead of tearing at each other’s clothes you’re tearing at each other’s bad taste in reality TV. While I can’t tell you how to get the “new relationship excitement” back, I can tell you how to spice it up and get back to the any time, any where mindset.

Before you begin down this path, I recommend you talk to your partner. They have undoubtedly noticed that your bedroom routine has gone from za za zoom to 10 minutes of the same pump and chump routine. Talk to them about your concerns and how you want to make an effort to get things back to the way things used to be. And then incorporate some of these ideas to get things revved back up:
Buy some lingerie. If you’ve never been one to really dress up for sex, this will be a nice change. You’ll find that even you are getting excited by wearing the sexy garment. You’ll even feel more confident, which is a lovely addition to any bedroom.

Get frisky in public. Maybe there isn’t much of an exhibitionist in you, that’s ok, you don’t have to go all the way in the aisle of a department store. Simply tease your partner while you’re out in public together. Do it in such a way that they can’t do anything about it. They’ll be itching to get you home as soon as possible.

Get out of the bedroom. You don’t have to do it on a roller coaster to have a change of scenery. Head to your laundry room, the guest room or even the stairs in your house. It will remind you of the carefree feeling you had in the beginning.

Attack your partner the next time they come home. Catching people off guard can be a really nice surprise, especially if they usually have to initiate. Wait for your partner to return, naked or not, and pounce them the second they walk in the door.

Talk dirty. If you haven’t been very vocal in the past, it’s time to open your mouth, your partner will be shocked and you’ll easily find yourself getting more turned on.

Make out. It sounds simple, but that’s usually the first thing to go in a long-term relationship. Focus on having make-out ONLY sessions,. it will bring you back to the time where you could do it for hours and bring you closer together.

Finally, purchase a toy together. Make a date of it. This way you can delve even deeper into what you do and do not want. Head over to where you can read all about all of their products without ever leaving your home.

Wanting to spice up your relationship is the first step, if you’re already aware and game for it, you’re in a good mindset. Good luck and remember to just be adventurous.

  1. Thank you for the great reminder, Lisa! I am lucky to have a French husband ha, ha but having small kids makes us forget about us under the mountain of laundry.

Your website is beautiful! Great work : ). Big hugs, Karina

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts, feedback and questions. Please note that, while I'm happy to answer questions about individual cards, I don't interpret spreads. I get several requests every day about interpreting DIY readings based on my spreads. Even if I had the time, I don’t think it would be a wise investment of my time to ‘read on readings’ – A reading is done in synergy between the cards, the question and the reader… in the MOMENT.
